Evangeline Lilly was born in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, to a devout Protestant family. Her father was an economics teacher, and her mother is often a secretary at Sandy Hill Elementary. Lilly boasts two sisters. Her youngest sister, Andrea, may be described by Evangeline as "the actor in the family."
Prior to going town of Fort Saskatchewan for Abbotsford, Bc, Canada, Evangeline briefly attended three elementary schools, Fort Elementary, Rudolph Hennig and James Mowat Elementary. Lilly recalled, "When I used to be a young child, the Fort was tiny. I could ride my bike at 5yrs old derived from one of end of town on the other.... In my opinion Fort Saskatchewan holds plenty of really great memories. I recently contemplate it a little happy hideaway." In Abbotsford, Lilly completed her senior high school years at W. J. Mouat Secondary School, and took to analyze international relations at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
Lilly also served briefly being a foreign missionary and lived in the grass hut within the Philippines. She was offered permanent missionary work there for two main years, a package she nearly accepted but eventually declined as a result of her parents' wishes. Lilly would have been a flight attendant with Royal Airlines and in addition did some modelling for phone chat line Livelinks. She speaks French perfectly. She also worked at Green Bay Bible Camp near Kelowna and also at the Earls Restaurant in Abbotsford.
